Become a Refrigeration Technician
Installation, commissioning and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems on board ships and within our facilities.

Your Mission
Ensure the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air
conditioning systems, primarily on board ships, but also within the CNOI buildings.
The refrigeration technician is responsible for the proper functioning of technical
installations while complying with safety and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Install refrigeration units, condensers, piping and electrical circuits.
- Commission systems: configure, calibrate and control operational parameters (temperature, pressure, regulation).
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Read and interpret technical drawings (fluidic, electrical, mechanical).
- Perform cabling, welding, brazing and component connections.
- Use measuring instruments and refrigerant transfer equipment.
- Comply with internal procedures and safety standards.
- Draft technical reports and complete intervention documentation.
- Work autonomously or in pairs, depending on the task.
Working Conditions
- Interventions take place on board ships or in workshops.
- Physically demanding conditions may apply: noise, heat, awkward positions.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Tools and equipment provided by CNOI.
- Work may include shift hours, weekends and public holidays.
- Possibility of international travel depending on the project.
Profile Required
Technical Skills:
- Reading and interpreting plans (electrical, fluidic, mechanical).
- Adjusting and monitoring refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Brazing, TIG/MIG/arc welding, assembling components.
- Leak testing, vacuum drawing, refrigerant transfer (including NH3).
- Using technical instruments and tools.
- Diagnosing faults and writing detailed reports.
- Familiarity with standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong command of technical naval and industrial terminology.

Required Training:
- Required diploma: NC3 Refrigeration (or equivalent vocational certification).
- 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
- Mandatory certifications: electrical and gas welding.
