Your Mission
The Mechanic plays a key role in shipbuilding and repair by commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting onboard machinery and systems such as engines, pumps, propellers, turbines, and hydraulic systems. The role also includes maintaining site equipment (cranes, gantry cranes), ensuring optimal equipment availability.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- Assemble, disassemble, and adjust complex mechanical components and engines.
- Install, connect, and test mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals.
- Carry out welding and finishing tasks (cleaning, greasing, painting).
- Use specialized tools, measuring instruments, and lifting equipment safely.
- Comply with HSE procedures and handle equipment safely at all times.
Working Conditions
- Work in workshops or onboard ships, depending on assignments.
- Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and chemical products.
- Manual handling, awkward postures, and physically demanding conditions.
- Strict adherence to safety standards.
- Personal protective equipment provided by the company.
Profile Required
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in diagnostics, cutting, welding, and assembly tools.
- Basic knowledge of electricity and naval terminology.
- Ability to work on various equipment (engines, hydraulic circuits, etc.).
Personal Qualities:
- Precision, thoroughness, and analytical mindset.
- Team spirit, autonomy, and good organizational skills.
- Physical endurance and adaptability.
- Strong sense of responsibility and compliance with instructions.
Required Training:
- CAP/BEP or equivalent in Mechanics (e.g., Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, NC3/NC4).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial or marine environment.
